IT Security Internship

Get ready to discover the dynamic world of cyber security at Nationale-Nederlanden (NN Group). Based in The Hague, you will get broad, foundational experience working for a large financial services company with over 16,000 employees in 11 countries. As an IT Security Intern, you will help us protect what matters most to our 20 million customers. What’s more, you will be offered an employment contract upon the successful completion of your information security internship.

What you’re going to do

You will join our central IT organisation’s Enterprise Security & Compliance (ES&C) department in The Hague. As our organisation’s security ambassador, this department protects our data and provides products and services to our business units around the world. At NN Group, you get to choose the topic of your internship assignment. Are you curious about identity and access management, vulnerability management, Microsoft Azure Security Technologies, or creating the vision for security awareness? As long as it is mutually interesting, you have our support. As our intern, you will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced cyber security professionals. And you’ll have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our security programme. If there’s time, and if you want to, you can also help out with some ES&C-driven activities.

Who you’ll work with

You will join a department with 140 highly motivated security professionals, divided into specialist teams of 7-10 people. As an international organisation, our official office language is English. Your colleagues have a wide variety of backgrounds, age ranges, and a good gender ratio. Our department is known for its friendly, helpful vibe with short lines of communication and plenty of room for your input and ideas. Our ES&C Young IT Professionals community regularly organises activities such as sports activities and after-work drinks, so you can get to know other young professionals within your department.

Who you are

You are passionate about the field of cyber security and ambitious, curious, and eager to learn more. Always proactive, you enjoy solving complex problems. You are able to work well independently and as part of a specialist team. Furthermore, you are:

• in the final year of your HBO or WO Bachelor or master’s in cyber security, IT, or another relevant technical field of study
• available for 4-5 days a week for 5 months, starting 1 September
• fluent in English (written and spoken). Dutch proficiency is an advantage but not a necessity

• A contract at NN Group upon the successful completion of the internship and graduation
