Your Internship

At ABN AMRO, it is pivotal to address our regulatory challenges and opportunities proactively to drive a robust and sustainable banking business. The Regulatory Execution Team updates the Executive Board on the progress of the bank-wide regulatory project portfolio on a monthly basis. We are looking for an enthusiastic, collaborative and structured intern to join our team – in addition to gaining work experience, this internship can be useful input into the academic work for those in a related study field (e.g., Legal / Regulations / Banking).

The objective of this internship is to support one of the key deliverables in the scope of the Regulatory Execution Team – monthly progress reporting on bank-wide material, regulatory driven projects / programs. This deliverable, alongside with other tools and deliverables by the team, will help the Regulatory Execution Team orchestrate and challenge the material regulatory driven projects / programs on a bank-wide level. This enables the Executive Board and senior management to steer on priorities and capacity related to regulatory and strategic projects / programs – with the ultimate goal that ABN AMRO is compliant with (new) regulatory changes / requirements in time and in a sustainable manner.

Responsibilities include: Requesting and summarising detailed updates from regulatory driven projects / programs, adding insights, incorporating comments / further insights from relevant stakeholder groups, collaborating with team members to finalise the report. Engagement with wide set of internal stakeholders is expected.

Note: Our team embraces hybrid way of working – please expect to be physically present the office one to two days per week (working from home on other days).

We are a small, friendly team of 5 members from diverse backgrounds, with a collaborative way of working.

Your profile

Hard skills & soft skills needed to succeed in the job

  • You are a HBO or WO student
  • Your studies : A Legal / Regulations related field will be very beneficial. Other preferred subjects are Business Management / Strategy, Banking, Corporate Communications, English Language.
  • You have an affinity with Financial Services Regulations, Strategy, Corporate Communications, Portfolio Management.
  • You are able to start in April / May 2023 (Flexible start date)
  • You are registered at the college/university for the whole duration of the internship.
  • You are available for a minimum of 4 months and a maximum of 6 months.

You recognise yourself from the following skills :

  • Organised : You are often described as organised, reliable and confident.
  • English written and verbal communications skills: You can convey information in a concise and clear manner in English, both written and verbally.
  • Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel): Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Autonomous : You are disciplined enough to work and succeed without supervision.
  • Organisational sensitivity: You are capable of (or are willing to learn) the dynamics and way of working of different stakeholder groups in a matrix organisation.
  • Pro active : you have a “hands-on” mentality.
  • Detail oriented : You are used to double-checking everything you do to get the best result.
  • Team player : You can easily reach out to colleagues and work with them, helping them or asking for help.
  • JIRA / Jira Align / Power BI knowledge/experience: a big plus in this assignment.
